Ove is a rigid and upright man who follows rules but pays much attention to love and righteousness. In his eyes the world has not expired but has become obsolete. He wanted to die not because he lacked the courage to live, but for his logic of "should die". People have a lifetime to learn about death, but they often live with an unrealistic hope that it does not exist until one day they find that their memories are more than their prospects. Ove is never afraid of death.
